Amaris Consulting in Belgium is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer - High Voltage Substations to develop technical studies, drawings and documentation for new and existing HV installations, working with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

You will contribute to feasibility studies, perform design work with AutoCAD, coordinate interfaces, and support projects through execution, QA, and process improvements. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in technical design or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD and 3D design software.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive, autonomous, and detail-oriented.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to feasibility studies and preliminary design phases.
• Carry out design studies and produce drawings for project execution.
• Develop permit and execution drawings including layouts and steel plans.
• Prepare technical documentation like equipment lists and connection lists.
• Ensure design quality and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate interfaces with civil works and electrical infra.
• Plan and manage own design activities and report progress.
• Collaborate with project leaders and other designers.
• Support execution phase with technical input.
• Work with external partners and contribute to QC of their studies.
• Participate in QA reviews and onboarding, drive process improvements.

Join Amaris Consulting and contribute to major energy infrastructure projects supporting the development of a more sustainable and reliable electricity network in Belgium. As a Electrical Design Engineer - High Voltage Substations, you will develop technical studies, drawings and documentation for new and existing high-voltage installations, working closely with project engineers, project leaders and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to feasibility studies and preliminary design phases for high-voltage installations.
• Independently carry out design studies and produce the technical drawings and documentation required for project execution.
• Develop permit and execution drawings, including layout plans, equipment plans and steel structure plans.
• Prepare associated technical documentation such as equipment lists, connection lists and steel structure documentation.
• Ensure the quality, consistency and compliance of designs with applicable standards and methodologies.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines, including civil works and electrical infrastructure.
• Plan and manage your own design activities and report progress to project and team leads.
• Collaborate closely with Project Leaders, Project Engineers and other designers.
• Support project teams during the execution phase by providing technical input when required.
• Work with external engineering partners when applicable and contribute to quality control of their studies.
• Depending on experience, participate in quality reviews, support the onboarding of new colleagues and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Profile

• 1-3 years of experience in technical design, electrical engineering, electromechanics or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, Automation, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Experience with AUTOCAD / 3D design software.
• Good knowledge of MS Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, autonomous and detail-oriented.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent Dutch and English are required.
