To strengthen our Technical & Manufacturing Process Innovation Team, based in Limelette, Belgium, we are seeking a talented individual for the position of Junior CO2 Technology Engineer (VIE).

As a Junior CO2 Technology Engineer (VIE), you will be involved in defining and developing CO2 capture projects across Lhoist's production plants. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to the decarbonization of the lime industry.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Technology assessment for Carbon Capture technologies, including adsorption, absorption, membranes, cryogenic technologies, etc.
  2. Monitoring existing and emerging technologies
  3. Benchmarking technologies
  4. Initiating projects for upcoming funding programs
  5. Following ongoing projects at various stages: development, pilot, and large-scale implementation, supporting our entity in France
  6. Performing process engineering and simulations (Hysys), focusing on high-pressure and low-temperature gas and liquids processing

About you:

  • Master’s Degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental Engineering, or similar; technical background with interest in gas and liquids engineering
  • Analytical mindset, proactive attitude, self-motivated, and strong team spirit
  • Ability to see the big picture and execute accordingly
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with data tools
  • Eager to learn from experts and capable of working autonomously
  • Full professional proficiency in English; knowledge of French or other languages is a plus
