Datashift in Belgium is seeking a Junior AI Consultant starting September 2027 to build real-life AI solutions. You will translate business questions into AI use cases with consultants and clients, and prepare data for modelling using Python and SQL.

You will build and evaluate models from classic ML to LLMs, work with Data Engineers to integrate models into dashboards or APIs, and help monitor model quality through MLOps practices and A/B tests.

Qualifications

• Master in Engineering, CS, AI or applied maths.
• Solid Python skills and understanding of ML concepts.
• Familiar with SQL and data modelling; NoSQL/data warehouses a plus.
• Cloud tooling such as Azure and popular ML libraries.

Junior AI Consultant - start in September 2027

Will you graduate in 2026 and do you want to build real-life AI solutions? At Datashift you join a hands-on team that uses data, machine learning and generative AI to solve concrete business problems.

Your responsibilities

• Translate business questions into concrete AI use cases together with consultants and clients;
• Explore, clean and prepare data for modelling (Python, SQL, notebooks);
• Build and evaluate AI models (from classic ML to LLMs and computer vision);
• Work with Data Engineers and BI specialists to integrate models into data products, dashboards or APIs;
• Help monitor and improve model quality, robustness and fairness in production (MLOps, A/B tests, retraining);
• Contribute to demos, PoCs and internal knowledge sharing on AI (showcases, tech talks, code snippets).

Job requirements

• Master in Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics or equivalent;
• Analytical, pragmatic and eager to learn from experimentation and feedback;
• Solid Python skills and understanding of basic ML concepts (e.g. regression, classification, neural networks);
• Familiar with SQL and basic data modelling; exposure to NoSQL or data warehouses is a plus;
• Curious about cloud and modern AI tooling (e.g. Azure, scikit-learn, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LLM / RAG frameworks);
• Basic software engineering habits: Git, clean code, simple tests and documentation; Docker is a plus;
• Team player with a client-facing mindset, who can explain technical topics in clear, non-jargon language;
• Fluent in Dutch and/or English.
