Confo Therapeutics in Zwijnaarde is expanding its finance team and is seeking a (Junior) Accountant to support the finance department. The ideal candidate will perform various accounting tasks, manage the purchase process, and assist in financial reporting. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required, along with strong attention to detail and good communication skills in English and Dutch.

For the expansion of our finance team in Zwijnaarde/Ghent, we are currently looking for a (Junior) Accountant, reporting to the Head of Finance.

• Performing accounting tasks and providing support to the finance department
• Managing the purchase process including following up on purchase orders, processing purchase invoices and preparing payments
• Recording financial transactions, booking and reconciling account statements
• Preparing the monthly VAT return
• Assist with monthly closing operations, including VAT, wages and depreciation
• Contributing to the preparation of financial reports and supporting audit processes
• Providing support in the preparation and reporting of grants
• Handle general administrative duties and provide ad-hoc support for various projects

Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Professional Bachelor) or equivalent experience
• An eye for detail combined with excellent administrative and organizational skills
• Confident in applying legal and financial terminology and procedures
• Experience in Biotech or pharma is a plus, but not a must
• A collaborative, proactive mindset with clear problem-solving skills
• Maturity and discretion to handle sensitive and confidential information with care
• Enthusiastic team-player willing to work in a quickly evolving scale-up environment
• Good communication skills in English and Dutch
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Experience in Microsoft Business Central (formerly Navision) is a plus, but not a requirement
