Manufacture Belge de Chocolats (MBC) in Brussels invites applications for an entry- to mid-level Accounting Assistant. You will support the accounting department in daily processing, ensure compliant financial records, and assist with month-end closing.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Process and verify purchase invoices and bank statements.
• Follow up supplier payments, payment reminders, and customer collections.
• Reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare VAT returns, Intrastat and intra-community declarations.
• Prepare recurring journal entries and provisions.
• Prepare OneGate surveys and other required statistical reports.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Your future role:

In this position, you will support the accounting department in the accurate, timely and compliant execution of daily accounting activities. You will ensure proper processing of financial transactions and contribute to statutory and tax compliance requirements while developing accounting knowledge and expertise.

In this role, you will be assigned the following tasks:

• You will process and verify purchase invoices and bank statements.

• You will follow up on supplier payments and payment reminders, as well as customer collections and overdue balances.

• You will reconcile customer and supplier accounts.

• You will support daily accounting administration and ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.

• You will assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

• You will perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• You will prepare recurring journal entries and provisions.

• You will prepare VAT returns, Intrastat and intra-community declarations.

• You will prepare OneGate surveys and other required statistical reports.

The profile we are looking for:

• You are graduated from a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.

• You have up to 3 years of experience; recent graduates are also welcome to apply.

• You are fluent in Dutch and French, with a good knowledge of English.

• You have relevant knowledge of Belgium tax and legal regulations.

• You are familiar with VAT legislation.

• You have advanced skills in Excel.

• Knowledge of MS Dynamics is a plus.

• You are willing to learn and grow within accounting.

• You are solution-oriented and proactive.

• You have good analytical skills and a hands-on approach.

• You have great organizational skills: you manage your time effectively and meet deadlines.

• You have good communication skills.

• You are a team player with a positive attitude.
