ACENSI is seeking a Java Cloud Engineer for a Brussels-based client in the energy sector. You will design and release backend features, build microservices, and orchestrate cloud-native apps on Azure or AWS. Strong CI/CD and IaC skills are essential, along with collaboration across teams.

The role requires 4+ years in Java development, a Bachelor’s degree, and fluency in French or Dutch with strong English. Hybrid work with two days/week in Brussels North is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, math, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in a Java developer role; energy/utilities sector preferred.
• Hands-on with Java EE, Spring Boot 3.x, and microservices.
• REST web services experience; cloud-native backend focus.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, document, and release Java-based features and APIs.
• Build scalable backend microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Develop cloud-native apps on Azure or AWS; GCP is a plus.
• Provision infrastructure with Terraform; manage Docker/Kubernetes.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines with Azure Pipelines or GitLab Actions.
• Handle incidents and coordinate with analysts; participate in guard duty.
• Propose modern tech, architectures, and patterns to boost reliability.

ACENSI is looking for a Java Cloud Engineer for one of their clients based in the energy sector in Brussels:

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and release independently and in-team new Javabased software features and API services.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure backend microservices using modern Java frameworks (Java 17+ to Java 21, Spring Boot 3.x).
• Design cloud-native applications leveraging hands‑on knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS preferred; GCP a plus).
• Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, or equivalent).
• Package applications using Docker and orchestrate via Kubernetes.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines (Aure Pipelines or Gitlab Actions) to ensure seamless, reliable delivery.
• Solving incidents and communicating with the Functional Analysts.
• Weekly Guard duty on the whole perimeter of the assigned team.
• Actively propose modern technologies, architectures, and design patterns to improve performance, reliability, and security.

Your Profile as Back-End & Cloud Engineer

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years in a Java Developer role, preferably in the Energy or Utilities sector.
• Back-end: ,Java EE, Spring Boot, Microservices with Java 17 & Spring Boot 3.X as concrete hands‑on experience
• API & Web Services: REST hands‑on experience
• Cloud Infrastructure: Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure (or equivalent major cloud provider) in a Cloud‑Native setup.
• Messaging & Batch-Processing: Modern message broker experience like AWS SQS/SNS, Azure Servicebus or Apache Kafka for event‑based communication & Spring Batch for our batch processing;
• Testing: Junit is the bare minimum
• Databases: any modern relational DB
• CI/CD: Azure Pipelines or Gitlab Actions as a minimum
• PLUS (extra) : ELK, ArgoCD, Keycloak, Kong & JFrog knowledge

Languages

• Fluent in either French or Dutch, next to an excellent understanding of English.
