Alstom is seeking a full-time Interlocking (IXL) Design Leader in Charleroi to drive the design and architecture of IXL systems across multiple signalling projects. You will work with V&V, installation, testing, and project managers to ensure safe, robust solutions and timely delivery.

You will define design strategy, oversee baselines, and coordinate interfaces with trackside equipment while supporting validation and safety activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or Telecommunication) required.
• Strong understanding of design and data preparation processes.
• Solid engineering and system background.
• Proficiency in English (full professional) required.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering and leadership expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and dedicated teammates.

You’ll play a critical role in leading and organizing the design activities of the Interlocking (IXL) system for a variety of Signalling projects. These projects range from deploying Alstom’s generic solutions to tailoring adapted solutions to meet client needs in terms of quality, cost, and delivery. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (V&V, Installation, Testing & Commissioning, Project Managers, and Configuration Managers), monitor progress, and ensure the delivery of safe and robust solutions, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of defining IXL plans and architecture, as well as overseeing the application engineering process, but also support the project’s testing, commissioning, and installation activities.

We’ll look to you for:

• Defining the IXL design strategy and ensuring alignment with project schedules, quality, and cost commitments.
• Collaborating with project teams to define hardware and software baselines and ensure traceability of system requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinating IXL architecture and interfaces with trackside equipment and external systems.
• Supporting V&V and Safety Managers in developing validation and safety strategies to meet project requirements.
• Monitoring and validating detailed design activities, including hardware and software configurations.
• Leading detailed design reviews and ensuring adherence to standard design methods and tools.
• Representing Alstom in technical workshops with customers and partners to resolve issues, provide updates, and identify risks and opportunities.
