IT Service Desk Consultant

About the Project
We are looking for an IT Service Desk Consultant to support a major ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) programme.
ANPR technology uses intelligent cameras to recognize vehicle license plates and compare them against existing databases, supporting operational activities, investigations, and road safety initiatives. The reliability of the central management platform, network connectivity, data flows, and camera infrastructure is critical to the success of the programme.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will act as a key point of contact for users and stakeholders, ensuring the smooth operation and support of the ANPR asset management environment.
Your Responsibilities
Incident & Service Management
- Provide first-line technical support for ANPR-related incidents and service requests.
- Register, prioritize, and follow up tickets through the ticketing system.
- Ensure issues are resolved within agreed service levels.
- Escalate incidents and supplier performance issues where necessary.
Communication & Stakeholder Support
- Act as the primary contact point for users, suppliers, and programme stakeholders.
- Proactively communicate ticket status, incidents, and service updates.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare reports, analyses, and operational dashboards.
- Monitor SLA performance and service quality.
- Register and maintain installations within the asset management system.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring issues and propose long-term solutions.
- Update documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure efficient and secure operations.
Profile
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience within a technical support or service desk environment.
- Experience working with ticketing systems, reporting tools, and knowledge management platforms.
- Experience supporting IT applications, infrastructure, or network-related environments.
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of IT support processes and incident management.
- Experience with ticket management and service delivery practices.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
- Knowledge of ANPR systems, camera hardware, or surveillance technologies is considered a strong asset.
