CERT-EU is seeking an IT Security Officer: Senior Cloud Architect to own cloud security services from requirements to operations. You will bridge technical teams and policy stakeholders, delivering secure, cost-efficient cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365.

You will design architectures, mentor teams, create runbooks, and respond to incidents. A security clearance for EU SECRET or higher is required, with strong English communication.

IT Security Officer - Senior Cloud Architect

CERT-EU is seeking to hire a truly motivated IT Security Officer: Senior Cloud Architect. This role sits at the heart of CERT-EU's cloud-security mission. Our Senior Cloud Architect owns the full life-cycle of cloud security services, from first requirement to daily operations, while acting as a trusted bridge between deep technical teams and policy-level stakeholders.

Core responsibilities:

• End-to-end delivery of cloud-security solutions: gather requirements, design the architecture, lead development, drive release and rollout, then maintain and continuously improve the platform
• Translate complex security concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that security controls are understood, accepted and correctly applied.
• Provide hands-on assistance for tool deployment, customisation and optimisation, turning security features into business value
• Produce and update client-specific security documentation, runbooks and architectural blueprints
• Support with day-to-day tactical fixes, responding to incidents.
• Develop, deploy and onboard EU institutions on CERT-EU security solutions
• Partner with other internal teams to identify cloud use cases, then lead the build of hardened, cost-efficient solutions that lift team productivity without expanding the attack surface
• Perform general cloud administration, configuration and tuning of cloud-native tooling.

Who we look for

The selected candidate should demonstrate the following required skills and characteristics:

• Demonstrable expertise with Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365 (cloud certifications preferred)
• Technical skills: Python, Golang, Postgres (familiarity with other languages being a plus), REST APIs, Docker, Splunk, Linux, Windows, macOS
• Experience with European/sovereign cloud providers such as OVH would be an advantage
• Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret data related to cloud model performance and impact, with understanding of statistical concepts and metrics.

The selected candidate should also demonstrate the following skills:

• Strong analytical skills to analyse use cases, define requirements, and choose the most appropriate technologies
• High degree of commitment and flexibility
• Excellent communication skills in English, both orally and in writing
• Ability to handle parallel tasks and cope with pressure
• Strong teamwork abilities.

To make your application stand out, please consider that the ideal candidate will possess some, or all, of the following:

• A university-issued diploma or equivalent, in line with BSc Computer Science
• At least 10 years of solid experience in applying cloud technologies - preferably within the cybersecurity domain
• Strong familiarity with cybersecurity principles, threats, and countermeasures.

The candidate must hold a security clearance at EU SECRET level or be in a position to be security cleared.
