A leading European manufacturer in West Flanders is seeking an IT Compliance Analyst for a freelance role. The consultant will support GDPR compliance and IT controls, conduct audits, and work with Legal teams. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in IT compliance and a solid understanding of GDPR. This role involves overseeing compliance activities and requires a mix of regulatory knowledge and analytical skills. The position offers flexibility with an onsite policy of 2 days per week.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Compliance Analyst, IT Auditor, or IT Risk professional.
  • Solid working knowledge of GDPR and operational data compliance processes.
  • Experience with IT General Controls across software, infrastructure, and operations.

  • Review and validate new or updated business processes to ensure GDPR compliance.

IT Compliance Analyst – (GDPR, IT Controls) – West Flanders

Our customer, a leading European manufacturer, is seeking an IT Compliance Analyst for a freelance mission to support its European IT compliance operations. The role ensures alignment with internal governance standards and external regulations such as GDPR, while maintaining effective IT controls and audit readiness across multiple systems.

The consultant will join a small compliance team, taking over responsibilities from a colleague who is transitioning internally. There will be an initial handover, then you will be in charge of recurring activity in the compliance domain relating to audits, controls, the EU AI Act and general compliance tasks.

This position sits between the IT, Security, and Legal teams and requires a strong combination of regulatory awareness, analytical skill, and practical understanding of IT controls.

Role
  • Oversee day-to-day GDPR operations, including monitoring a shared compliance inbox, handling data-related requests, and supporting Legal with complaints or assessments.
  • Review and validate new or updated business processes to ensure GDPR compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain IT General Controls across applications and infrastructure systems.
  • Conduct monthly control reviews and follow up with technical teams on identified issues.
  • Oversee controls related to application lifecycle, access and account management, license compliance, patching, backups, and operational security.
  • Execute internal audits to verify that controls are properly implemented and effective.
  • Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with IT Security and technical teams on remediation actions.
  • Maintain clear documentation, audit evidence, and recurring compliance reports.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Compliance Analyst, IT Auditor, or IT Risk professional.
  • Solid working knowledge of GDPR and operational data compliance processes.
  • Experience with IT General Controls across software, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Familiarity with COBIT or similar IT governance frameworks is an advantage.
  • Familiriaty with the EU AI Act is appreciated

START DATE: ASAP (handover planned from November)

DURATION: 6 Months (extension possible)

CONTRACT: Freelance

LOCATION: West Flanders

ONSITE POLICY: 2 days per week

HOURS PER WEEK: 40
