VersaSense in Belgium seeks an embedded engineer to bridge hardware and firmware. You will design IoT sensor devices, boards, and write software that runs on them, focusing on low-power wireless and reliable industrial communication.

Expect a roughly 50/50 split between board design and firmware work, with close collaboration across platform, product, and field teams. A strong track record in embedded systems and soldering through prototypes is desired.

Qualifications

• Experience designing embedded hardware and/or firmware with ownership of shipped products.
• Familiar with schematic capture and PCB layout in professional tools.
• Strong embedded C/C++ on ARM MCUs and knowledge of low-power wireless stacks.

Responsabilités

• Design IoT devices, gateways, and integrate sensors and wireless modules end-to-end.
• Write embedded firmware with drivers, peripherals, and communication stacks.
• Build and tune low-power wireless links for range and battery life.
• Integrate sensors over SPI, I2C, UART, RS485 and related industrial protocols.
• Optimize power budgets to extend node lifetimes to years.
• Take designs through EMC and design-for-manufacturing, into production.
• Debug complex issues on the bench and on customer sites.
