Job summary

EY in Tournai is offering an Internship in Accounting & Business Consulting, providing hands-on experience across financial digital processes, VAT and IFRS reporting, and consolidation packages. You will work with clients from various industries, gaining insight into accounting, compliance, and reporting for multinational and local businesses.

Qualifications

• You are studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a financial or economic orientation (preferably in Accounting/or Taxation).
• You are available to start your internship in the second semester (January/February/March/April 2027).
• You have an internship contract from your school or university.
• You are fluent in Dutch and/or French, and have a good written and spoken knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Accounting, Compliance & Reporting: assist clients in financial digital processes such as bookkeeping and reporting; prepare VAT, Intrastat declarations, intracommunity statements; monitor/close accounts; prepare IAS/IFRS reporting for (non) listed companies; prepare consolidation packages; establish annual accounts; prepare tax schedules and various forms; reconcile accounts (VAT/turnover, salary) and assist audits.
• Depending on interests and experience, work on management reports, budgeting, analytical bookkeeping, financial health and competitors analyses, and other financial projects.
• Temporary assignments: assist in general accounting, credit control, internal optimization projects, etc.
• Start-up and scale-up assistance: be an active member of the EYnovation ecosystem with a hands-on entrepreneurial approach.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Accounting, Compliance & Reporting : you will assist clients in their financial digital processes e.g. :
  • Bookkeeping and reporting, Preparation of VAT, Intrastat declarations and intra-Community statements, Monitoring / closing of accounts (+ closing file), (Periodic) reporting in IAS / IFRS for (non) listed companies, Preparation of consolidation packages, Establishment of annual accounts, Preparation of tax schedules and various tax forms, Reconciliation of accounts (VAT / turnover, salary reconciliation, audit assistance, ...);
  • Depending on your interests and experience, you can work on management reports, budgeting, analytical bookkeeping, financial health & competitors analyzes and other financial projects.
• Temporary assignments: depending on the client’s needs, you will assist in general accounting, credit control, internal optimization projects, etc.

Your Profile

• You are studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a financial or economic orientation (preferably in Accounting/or Taxation);
• You are available to start your internship in the second semester (January/February/March/April 2027);
• You have an internship contract from your school or university;
• You are fluent in Dutch and/or French, and have a good written and spoken knowledge of English;
• You are a born team player, critical, innovative and curious;
• You are client- and results-oriented;
• You are tech‑savvy. Experience with Exact Online and/or ERP is a bonus.
• You are looking for an internship with a minimum length of three months.
