EY Gent is offering an Internship in Accounting & Business Consulting where you will support clients with financial digital processes, bookkeeping, VAT/Intrastat, and IAS/IFRS reporting across industries. You’ll work in the Accounting, Compliance & Reporting domain and gain hands-on experience in multiple service lines.

The role is ideal for students in finance or economics, with Dutch/French language skills and good English.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or economics (Accounting/Tax preferred).
• Available to start internship in 2nd semester (Jan–Apr 2027).
• Internship contract provided by school/university.
• Fluent in Dutch and/or French; good English written and spoken.
• Born team player, creative, curious and client-/results-oriented.
• Tech-savvy; experience with Exact Online and/or ERP is a bonus.
• Minimum internship length of three months.

Aufgaben

• Assist in bookkeeping and reporting, VAT and Intrastat declarations, and IAS/IFRS reporting for various clients.
• Work on management reports, budgeting, analytical bookkeeping and financial analyses as needed.
• Support temporary assignments in general accounting, credit control and internal optimization projects.
• Contribute to EYnovation ecosystem with an hands-on entrepreneurial approach.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Accounting, Compliance & Reporting : you will assist clients in their financial digital processes e.g. :
  • Bookkeeping and reporting, Preparation of VAT, Intrastat declarations and intra-Community statements, Monitoring / closing of accounts (+ closing file), (Periodic) reporting in IAS / IFRS for (non) listed companies, Preparation of consolidation packages, Establishment of annual accounts, Preparation of tax schedules and various tax forms, Reconciliation of accounts (VAT / turnover, salary reconciliation, audit assistance, ...);
  • Depending on your interests and experience, you can work on management reports, budgeting, analytical bookkeeping, financial health & competitors analyzes and other financial projects.
• Temporary assignments: depending on the client’s needs, you will assist in general accounting, credit control, internal optimization projects, etc.
• Start-up and scale-up assistance: you will be an active member of the EYnovation ecosystem, with a hands-on and entrepreneurial approach.

Your Profile

• You are studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a financial or economic orientation (preferably in Accounting/or Taxation);
• You are available to start your internship in the second semester (January/February/March/April 2027);
• You have an internship contract from your school or university;
• You are fluent in Dutch and/or French, and have a good written and spoken knowledge of English;
• You are a born team player, critical, innovative and curious;
• You are client- and results-oriented;
• You are tech-savvy. Experience with Exact Online and/or ERP is a bonus.
• You are looking for an internship with a minimum length of three months.
