Job summary

Jones Engineering, a long-established engineering contractor, seeks an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our delivery team on a major Data Centre project in Belgium. You will support the Construction Team and the Senior QS in day-to-day commercial duties.

You will track costs and hours for labour hire subcontractors and prelim staff, assist with progress applications, maintain commercial registers, and help prepare reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity surveying within construction projects.
• Experience on large DC projects is a plus.
• Able to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong IT and cost-tracking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Job description

Due to expansion of our Data Centre Division, Jones Engineering require an Intermediate Quantity Surveyors to join the delivery team on a large DC Project in Belgium.

Responsibilities

To provide support to Construction Team and Senior Quantity Surveyor on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:

• Tracking Costs and Hours of all Labour Hire Subcontractors.
• Tracking Costs and Hours of all Subcontracted Prelim Staff.
• Assist the Senior QS with the preparation of Commercial Reports.
• Maintain all Commercial Registers.
• Manage Sub-contractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final accounts.
• Assist the Senior QS with monthly progress applications.
• All other duties associated with this role.

Key Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team.
• Excellent IT Skills.
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
