Description du poste

A NATO organisation in Mons is adapting its physical footprint — new buildings, redeveloped offices, and the support framework that has to work on day one. They are looking for an experienced infrastructure project manager to run that programme on the end user's side.

What You Would Be Doing
  • Coordinating and monitoring the plans and projects allocated to you by the Footprint Adaptation Programme Manager.
  • Chairing internal and external review meetings, and reporting project status to senior management.
  • Leading the change management initiative alongside the Transition Manager at each site.
  • Preparing and coordinating the infrastructure implementation plans behind each delivery.
  • Driving the Site Master Development Plan and the O&M support framework in consultation with the Host Nation and in-house specialists.
  • Working with the Host Nation so the new buildings and services land aligned to the organisation's requirements.
What They Are Looking For
  • A university-level qualification in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical (High Voltage) engineering — or equivalent education plus solid professional experience.
  • At least 10 years as a senior project manager on large office redevelopment projects, acting for the end user, in an international organisation or a national public administration (civil or military).
  • Strong grounding in planning, monitoring and controlling programmes, and in recognised programme and project management methods.
  • A good working understanding of procurement, including negotiating with third parties.
  • Budgeting and resource allocation, and programme management at major-unit or executive level.
  • Excellent written and spoken English — succinct staff papers, presentations and correspondence that senior readers act on.
  • The persuasion and negotiating skills to secure buy‑in, and the composure to produce high-quality work to short‑notice deadlines.
Practical detail
  • Mons, Belgium — fully on site. Expect one to two days a week on temporary duty in Brussels for an extended period.
  • Mostly a normal office environment; during implementation you will spend time on construction sites, with the protective equipment and site rules that go with them.
  • Contract runs 1 October to 30 December 2026.
  • An active security clearance is required, and you must be a citizen of a NATO member country with the right to work in Belgium.

If you have delivered buildings for the people who will actually use them, and you are as comfortable in a review meeting as on a site walk, we would like to hear from you.
