Job summary

Sander in Belgium is seeking an Information Security Officer to join its security team and shape the future of cybersecurity. This role goes beyond technical work, offering a clear path toward leadership and long-term career development within a regulated organisation.

You will strengthen the security framework by developing policies, manage risks and compliance, drive governance initiatives, support security awareness, and translate complex topics into practical recommendations for stakeholders

Qualifications

• Experience in information security, cybersecurity, IT risk or security governance.
• Good understanding of security frameworks and standards, ideally including ISO 27001.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, compliance, policies and security controls.
• Ability to translate technical security topics into clear, practical recommendations for different stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset, strong analytical skills and the ambition to grow professionally and take on more responsibility.
• Fluency in English and Dutch, French considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen the security framework by developing and improving information security policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Manage risks and compliance by identifying vulnerabilities, assessing security risks and supporting remediation plans.
• Drive governance initiatives related to security standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Support security awareness by promoting a strong security culture across the organisation.
• Monitor and report on security performance, preparing recommendations and presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Grow into a leadership role by progressively taking ownership of security initiatives and contributing to the long-term security strategy.
