Vesuvius Ghlin in Belgium is seeking an experienced R&D Automation Vision Engineer to join the Mechatronics team. You will develop machine vision and robot-guided solutions for industrial automation, covering 2D/3D vision, optics selection, data processing, and on-site support.

Engage with cross-functional engineers across feasibility, prototyping, and deployment phases, and work with KUKA robots and Siemens PLCs. Fluent English and willingness to travel up to 20% are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
• 5–10 years of experience in machine vision for industrial automation and robotic guidance.
• Proven track record in designing and developing industrial vision systems.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement machine vision algorithms for object detection, localization, inspection, shape matching, and robot guidance.
• Design and develop 2D and 3D vision solutions to support robotic manipulation and process control.
• Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and PoC evaluations for emerging technologies.
• Select cameras, optics, lighting, and vision sensors according to application needs.
• Maintain and standardize vision documentation for efficiency and reuse.
• Stay up-to-date with machine vision, AI, 3D imaging, and vision sensors.
• Collaborate with automation, mechanical, and software teams for system integration.
• Work with industrial robots (KUKA) and Siemens PLC platforms.
• Serve as technical reference for vision topics within project teams.
• Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization at customer sites.
