IMEC is offering a Master internship in Leuven focusing on improving qubit coherence through setup optimization. You will explore different hardware configurations to identify external decoherence sources and minimize them.
The position involves performing electrical measurements in a closed cryogenic system, with a duration of 3 months and is intended for self-sufficient master's students in Electrotechnics/Electrical Engineering. Reference: 2026-INT-173.
/ Improve qubit coherence by setup optimization
Master internship - Leuven | More than two weeks ago
By exploring different setup configurations, the student will explore what is limiting coherence of imec's qubits.
Qubit coherence such as energy relaxation, T1 and dephasing time Tphi depend both on internal and external sources of decoherence. In this internship the student will explore different hardware configurations to identify main external sources of decoherence and minimize them. The work will be related to perform electrical measurements in a closed cryogenic system.
Type of internship: Master internship
Duration: 3months
Required educational background: Electrotechnics/Electrical Engineering
University promotor: Kristiaan De Greve (KU Leuven)
