Job summary

Pauwels Consulting in Brugge is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to bridge business needs and data engineering, translating requirements into sustainable data solutions. You will capture business needs, define rules, and design semantic models while building advanced Power BI dashboards and reporting.

The role requires 5+ years in data analysis, strong Power BI/DAX, SQL, and Databricks proficiency, plus Scrum experience and fluency in Dutch.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis within a technical or statistical context.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI and DAX for complex dashboarding and reporting.
• Proven experience with SQL and Databricks for data exploration and analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of semantic modeling and Kimball star schemas.
• Experience working within Scrum methodologies using Jira.
• You possess strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical insights to business audiences.
• You're excellent at prioritizing tasks and organizing work in a high-pressure environment.
• You're able to set clear boundaries and provide pro-active advice on new tools and trends.
• You are fluent in Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Capture and translate business requirements into concrete data features and functional stories.
• Explore source data to define business rules and functional specifications for the engineering team.
• Develop comprehensive business cases, including mockups, existing models, and feature requirements.
• Design and implement semantic models using Kimball star schema methodologies.
• Build advanced Power BI dashboards and reports incorporating complex DAX measures.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing to ensure alignment with functional requirements and organizational standards.
• Monitor data quality and consistency while ensuring compliance with governance and GDPR standards.
