Job summary

amfori - Trade with Purpose in Brussels is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant (Accounts Payable) to lead the full AP cycle for our international operations. You will ensure accurate coding, timely payments, and solid supplier relationships, reporting to the Head of Finance.

The role requires 3–5 years in AP, strong accrual knowledge, ERP experience, and excellent Excel skills, with fluency in English. This is a hybrid position with group insurance and remote-work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or bookkeeping.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting and month-end closing processes.
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full AP cycle from invoice receipt to payment.
• Code and verify supplier invoices; execute weekly/monthly payments.
• Maintain supplier master data and reimburse employee expenses.
• Support AP forecasting and cash flow planning.
• Post supplier accruals and assist month-end closing.
• Reconcile AP ledgers and investigate discrepancies.
• Support audits and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with VAT compliance and intercompany AP.
