Job summary

Legend Biotech in Ghent is seeking an energetic Human Resources Business Partner to collaborate with leaders and employees, turning business needs into practical HR solutions and enhancing the employee experience.

With 5+ years in HR, a Master’s degree, and fluent Dutch and English, you will guide managers through investigations, performance conversations, and organizational change while ensuring compliance and data-driven HR practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required (education).
• At least 5 years of HR experience; biotechnology/pharma experience valued.
• Excellent Dutch and English communication skills.
• Strong data-driven mindset and knowledge of Belgian labour law is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be the trusted first-line HR partner for leaders and employees.
• Translate business and people needs into actions across workforce and succession planning, performance, compensation, retention and relations.
• Guide managers through investigations, performance conversations, disciplinary actions and organisational change.
• Address legal and compliance risks, including guidance on labour relations matters.
• Use trends, metrics and insights to shape HR solutions, policies and practices.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition, L&D, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll, Legal and other HR specialists.
• Lead and/or implement HR projects from concept to implementation with timely delivery and impact.
• Contribute to company-wide HR initiatives and maintain key HR documentation.

What can you expect?

We are looking for an energetic Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Ghent. In this key role, you will work closely with leaders and employees to turn business and people needs into practical solutions that support business continuity, growth and an engaging employee experience. You will combine hands-on HR expertise with a strategic mindset—and you will not be afraid to challenge the status quo when it matters.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Be the trusted first-line HR partner for leaders and employees.
• Translate business and people needs into concrete actions across workforce and succession planning, performance management, compensation and benefits, retention and employee relations.
• Guide managers through complex HR matters, objective investigations, career development topics, performance conversations, disciplinary actions and organisational change
• Address legal and compliance risks, including guidance on labour relations matters.
• Use trends, metrics and business insights to keep the pulse on people trends and to shape smart HR solutions, programmes, policies and practices.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll, Legal and other HR specialists
• Lead and/or implement HR projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely delivery and sustainable impact.
• Contribute to company-wide HR initiatives
• Ensure that key HR documentation is accurate and consistently maintained.

Who are we looking for?

Education

• A master’s degree.

Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant HR experience; experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals is highly valued.

Languages

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English, complemented by strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
