Job summary

Yonderland is seeking a Data Solutions Architect to lead the design of our data platform, built on AWS with Snowflake, dbt and Airflow. You will combine architecture ownership with hands-on engineering, delivering scalable data, integration and AI solutions while ensuring security, compliance and data quality across systems.

The role reports to the Head of Data & AI and requires current coding experience, cloud expertise, and a track record of governance and standards adoption in data platforms.

Qualifications

• Senior experience architecting data platforms that run at high volume in production.
• Hands-on coding experience with current engineering practices.
• Production‑level Python and deep AWS experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, scalability and automation of the data platform.
• Define standards and best practices for data solutions, integrations and cloud infrastructure.
• Design distributed, real-time and high-volume data processing architectures.
• Lead solution design, architectural governance and technical decision-making.
• Drive AWS cloud architecture, IaC, CI/CD and platform optimization. Translate business needs into scalable data, integration and AI solutions.

We are looking for a Data Solutions Architect to join our team

Yonderland runs its data platform on AWS, with Snowflake, dbt and Airflow above it and a large operational database estate underneath. As our Data Solutions Architect, you will lead the design of all of it, acting as the technical reference for the data function on architecture, cloud and automation. Your work will run from the design of new implementations and integration patterns between systems, through how data is processed at volume, to how the platforms themselves are built, deployed and automated - with security, compliance and data quality built into every design. This is a hands‑on role: architecture ownership paired with real engineering work, and current coding experience is required. You report to the Head of Data & AI.

You will

• Own the architecture, scalability and automation of the data platform.
• Define standards and best practices for data solutions, integrations and cloud infrastructure.
• Design distributed, real‑time and high‑volume data processing architectures.
• Lead solution design, architectural governance and technical decision‑making.
• Drive AWS cloud architecture, IaC, CI/CD and platform optimization. Translate business needs into scalable data, integration and AI solutions.

You have

• Senior experience architecting data platforms that run at high volume in production.
• A track record of defining standards that other engineers went on to adopt.
• A hands‑on engineering background, with coding experience that is current.
• Deep, hands‑on architecture and operating experience on AWS (equivalent depth on Azure or GCP considered).
• Production‑level Python.
• Experience with a high‑volume parallel processing engine such as Spark or Flink, including partitioning, state handling and performance tuning.
• Terraform experience is required,sinc
