Elia Group is seeking a Head of Real-time Data Operations to lead a strategic team ensuring availability, quality and reliability of real-time data used by our control centres for safe grid operation.

The role requires strong leadership, deep EMS/SCADA experience and proficiency in data management, with fluency in Dutch, French and English. You will interact across operational and external partners to elevate governance and data practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical field (Energy, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent).
• Experience with EMS/SCADA and network calculation tools or similar operational environments.
• Solid understanding of high‑voltage network modelling and data management.
• Proven leadership experience with excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.

Responsabilités

• Ensure availability, quality and reliability of real‑time operational data for Elia’s control centres.
• Lead and develop a specialised team with clear priorities and collaboration.
• Oversee EMS data management, monitor KPIs/SLAs, coordinate incident resolution and drive improvements.
• Ensure data consistency between asset data, network model and operational model with security/audit compliance.
• Collaborate with operational teams and external partners to improve governance and methods.

As Head of Real-time Data Operations, you will lead a strategic team responsible for the availability, quality and reliability of real‑time operational data used by Elia’s control centres, enabling safe monitoring and operation of the electricity grid.

Your impact

• Ensure the availability, consistency and quality of real‑time operational data, enabling control centres to safely monitor and operate the electricity grid.
• Lead, coach and develop a specialised team, setting clear priorities, fostering collaboration and creating an environment that promotes operational excellence.
• Oversee EMS data management processes, monitor performance through KPIs and SLAs, coordinate resolution of critical incidents and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure consistency between asset data, the network model and the operational model while maintaining compliance with security, audit and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with operational teams, technical experts and external partners to improve working methods and governance standards.

What You Bring

• A Master’s degree in a technical field (Energy, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent).
• Experience with EMS, SCADA, network calculation tools or similar operational environments.
• A solid understanding of high‑voltage network modelling and data management.
• Proven leadership experience, combined with excellent communication and coaching skills.
• An analytical, proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, Databricks, Power BI or similar tools is considered an asset.
• Excellent command of Dutch, French and English.
