PolyPerception is offering a 6- to 12-month paid internship to work with a startup team on hardware enhancements. You will join experienced engineers to develop hardware, assemble and test devices, and take part in on-site installations in waste sorting facilities across the EMEA.

Ideal candidates have a background in electrical work or hardware engineering, are eager to take responsibility, and willing to travel.

Qualifications

• Background in electrical work or hardware engineering is beneficial.
• Experience with hardware development and testing is preferred.
• Willingness to travel within EMEA.
• Ability to work on site in waste sorting environments.
• Internship duration of 6–12 months with ASAP start.

Responsabilités

• Hardware development to improve current hardware solution.
• Manage, assemble and test hardware for existing orders.
• Participate in on-site installations and testing.
• Participate in VCA safety training certification.
• Improve processes for installations and stock/inventory.

At PolyPerception, our mission is to increase recycling rates through real-time data and insights. We do this by installing analyzers in waste recycling facilities across the world. These devices use deep learning and computer vision to read what's on the conveyor belt in real time. We're a small, fast-growing team backed by TOMRA, a global leader in sensor-based sorting.

We are looking for an intern, for 6 to 12 months, who wants to make a difference by improving the hardware and installation part of our solution.

You will be working together with experienced engineers for:

• Hardware development → improving our existing hardware solution
• Managing, assembling and testing hardware for existing orders
• Taking part in installations onsite
• You will participate in a VCA training certification (safety training)
• Process improvement for installations and stock & inventory

The internship will give you a lot of responsibility to make a difference in a short period of time. You will work along side experienced engineers in a startup environment.

What we’re looking for someone:

• Passionate about and excited by working on our hardware (camera sensors, LED lighting, lenses, edge devices and electrical cabinets)
• With a go-getter attitude
• Willingness to take on responsibility
• Willingness to work in waste sorting and recycling facilities (these are tough working environments)
• Willingness to travel in EMEA
• Passport and driving licence is a plus

A background in electrical work, hardware engineering, or makerspace experience is beneficial.

• 6 to 12 month paid internship
• Our office is walking distance from Antwerpen-Berchem train station
