The Network & Security Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management and implementation of network and security projects. The Specialist is also responsible for ensuring that network and security aspects of other ICT projects are properly managed and coordinated with the project managers.
The Network & Security Specialist must collaborate with the Network & Security Architect, HQ, regional and local ICT teams to ensure group standards are implemented and maintained while ensuring the highest levels of business continuity and productivity for the approximately 9000 IT users currently on the Puratos SDWAN, which is expanding every year (100+ sites). As Network & Security Specialist you must have at least 5 years of experience in the LAN / WAN or Security area.
Firewalling & load balancing: Troubleshoot and make routine changes to the different firewall & load balancing systems as also be able to implement new installations & features.
LAN & WLAN: Installation and configuration of Cisco switches in the different regional datacentres, remote offices, factories as also configuring and finetuning of the wireless.
SDWAN: Communicate with global WAN provider to ensure a reliable and performant connection to the different sites. Participate to the monthly service reviews and pro-active problem solving with the technical architect of our WAN provider.
Documentation: Interpret and maintain technical documentation and make the necessary design documents for new projects & installations.
Physical installations: aka "racking and stacking", help with installation, initial configuration and troubleshooting of new equipment as also maintain the computer rooms. Follow the cabling and installation standards of Puratos.
Support: Offer operational support on wired and wireless networks for all Puratos entities connected to the Puratos network, either directly or by assisting the local IT support staff. The Senior Network & Security Specialist will be mostly involved for the more complex issues.
Monitoring: Follow up and maintain the various monitoring systems used for network and security.
The Network & Security Specialist is expected to be able to lead projects within HQ and on remote sites, coordinating with other members of the infrastructure team as well as members of other HQ IT teams and local IT. These projects can last from 2-3 weeks to several months.
At other times the Network & Security Specialist is expected to participate in projects lead by colleagues from the infrastructure team or other IT teams in HQ. The Network & Security Specialist is expected to manage his own time and balance own projects with colleague’s projects as well as on-going support and maintenance and is responsible for ensuring that tasks critical to the business are given the necessary priority.
Additionally, the Network & Security Specialist will be part of a 24/7 standby team for critical incidents approximately once every 8 weeks.
