When we come together – where every voice is heard and everyone knows they belong and matter – we create solutions that launch people into space, support lifesaving care in hospitals, and enable the construction of groundbreaking, world scale production facilities. Location: Brussels / Diegem, Belgium Future Placement Role: Industrial Gases Supply Chain Data Scientist

About the Program

Are you a recent Master's graduate with a strong foundation in data science, machine learning, and mathematical optimization, and a drive to turn complex operational data into decisions that move a real network? Join our Role-Ready Graduate Program and build the technical depth, engineering practices, and industry knowledge needed to become an Industrial Gases Supply Chain Data Scientist within our European Supply Chain organization. As part of our Central Supply Chain Analysis Team, you will follow a structured development journey designed to prepare you for a future role building the models, algorithms, and analytical products that optimize our Industrial Gases supply chain across Europe.

Through hands‑on projects, coaching from experienced professionals, and increasing levels of responsibility, you will work on advanced analytics, optimization, and predictive modelling problems with direct impact on cost, service, and sustainability. You will contribute to improving the performance of our Packaged Gases, Liquid Bulk, and Microbulk distribution networks, working closely with data engineering, IT, supply chain, operations, logistics, commercial, and retail teams across multiple countries.

What You Will Do
  • Explore and model large supply chain datasets (telemetry, delivery, order, and cost data) to uncover patterns, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Design, train, and validate machine learning models, for example demand and consumption forecasting, anomaly detection, and customer segmentation.
  • Develop mathematical optimization and simulation models for network design, depot and transport planning, and route and cluster optimization.
  • Turn models into usable analytical products, including interactive applications and dashboards, with clear documentation and reproducible code.
  • Define and track KPIs, and design experiments and cost-benefit analyses to quantify the value of new models and decisions.
  • Support optimization projects and progressively take ownership of defined initiatives.
  • Work with geospatial and routing data to improve distribution efficiency and travel-time estimation.
  • Explore emerging approaches, including AI-assisted analytics and LLM-based tools, to accelerate analysis and documentation.
  • Translate analytical results into clear recommendations and present them to senior stakeholders.
What You Will Learn
  • Industrial Gases supply chain operations and distribution networks.
  • Applied machine learning, statistical modelling, and forecasting on operational and IoT/telemetry data.
  • Mathematical optimization, simulation, and scenario modelling for network and transport planning.
  • Production‑grade Python, SQL, and cloud data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Data visualization and application development using tools such as Qlik Sense.
  • Business case development and cross‑functional stakeholder management.
  • Communicating complex analytical results to non‑technical audiences.
  • Leading and independently managing advanced analytics initiatives, from problem framing to deployment.
