DEME is seeking a Senior Category Buyer Shipyards to develop and execute the sourcing strategy for shipyard categories, including vessel construction, dry-docking, repair, and related maritime services.

You will manage complex procurement projects, negotiate high-value contracts, and mentor junior buyers while building a global supplier network and optimizing total cost of ownership across the DEME fleet.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent with strong technical background.
• Minimum 5 years procurement experience in maritime, offshore, shipbuilding, or heavy industry.
• Fluent in English; Dutch or other languages are assets.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to translate market insights into procurement strategies.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategy for shipyard categories worldwide.
• Build and maintain a network of shipyards and maritime service providers.
• Lead tenders, contract negotiations, and long-term framework agreements.
• Optimize total cost of ownership and supplier performance.
