UCB is seeking a strategic PIM Outcomes Research Lead to join the PIM ISEG Operations team. Based in Brussels, Monheim, or Slough, you will shape evidence generation strategies that support healthcare decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

You will partner with global and local teams, translate complex requirements into evidence plans, and ensure studies are rigorous, compliant and fit for purpose. This hybrid role offers broad cross-functional exposure and the opportunity to influence

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, HEOR or related field.
  • Extensive experience in outcomes research, HEOR, and real-world evidence.
  • Ability to advise on study design and evidence planning in a global setting.

We are looking for a strategic, collaborative and scientifically driven PIM Outcomes Research Lead to join our PIM ISEG Operations team. This role can be based at our Global Headquarters in Brussels (Belgium), our Monheim office (Germany), or our Slough office (United Kingdom). In this highly visible position, you will help shape how evidence is generated, translated into impact, and leveraged to support healthcare decision-making across markets.

About The Role

As PIM Outcomes Research Lead, you will play a critical role in advancing evidence generation across our Patient Impact organization. Working at the intersection of science, strategy, and execution, you will enable country and regional teams to develop and deliver evidence generation initiatives that support healthcare decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the organization, helping teams navigate complex scientific, operational, and strategic challenges while ensuring evidence generation activities remain compliant, impactful, and aligned with business priorities.

Who you'll work with

You will form a close partnership within your team with the PIM ISEG Leads focusing on the key Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and collaborate closely with regional and local evidence generation teams, ISEG Heads , Medical Affairs, Market Access, Health Economics, Real-World Evidence specialists, governance bodies, and external research partners.

What you'll do
  • Partner with country and regional teams to shape evidence generation strategies that address critical healthcare decision-making needs and create meaningful value for patients, healthcare systems, and UCB.
  • Provide strategic guidance on outcomes research, real-world evidence, epidemiology, and broader evidence generation initiatives, ensuring studies are scientifically robust, operationally feasible , and fit for purpose.
  • Translate complex business, medical, and stakeholder requirements into actionable evidence plans, helping teams define clear objectives , study concepts, intended audiences, and evidence utilization strategies.
  • Guide teams through complex evidence generation challenges by assessing risks, evaluating trade-offs, and recommending execution approaches that balance scientific rigor, compliance requirements, timelines, and business impact.
  • Act as a trusted advisor across a highly matrixed global environment, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment without formal people management responsibility.
  • Connect local teams with internal subject matter experts and external research partners to ensure the right expertise , capabilities, and resources are available throughout the evidence generation lifecycle.
  • Drive high-quality execution by promoting adherence to governance requirements, quality standards, and compliant evidence generation practices across supported activities.
  • Strengthen organizational capability by coaching teams, sharing best practices, fostering innovation, and continuously improving evidence generation approaches to maximize impact and decision relevance.
Interested ? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills
  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biostatistics, or a related scientific discipline. An advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD or equivalent) is considered an advantage.
  • Extensive experience in Outcomes Research, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Real-World Evidence, Epidemiology, Market Access Evidence Generation, or a related function within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong expertise in evidence generation methodologies and a demonstrated ability to advise on study design, execution strategies, and evidence planning in a global environment.
  • Deep understanding of how evidence supports healthcare decision-making, value demonstration, reimbursement, patient access, and broader market access objectives .
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead complex cross-functional initiatives within a matrix organization.
  • Experience managing scientific, operational, or strategic trade-offs while maintaining a focus on quality, compliance, and business impact.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear recommendations.
  • Experience collaborating with external research organizations, consultancies, academic institutions, and other evidence generation partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across countries, functions, and cultures in a global organization.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for generating high-quality evidence that improves outcomes for patients.
