Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk seeks a Patent Engineer to coordinate global IP activities, identify patentable innovations, and develop robust filing strategies. You will draft and prosecute applications, collaborate with international IP law firms, and support multiple product areas within compressor and power techniques.

You will monitor third-party IP rights, optimize freedom-to-operate, and align with group IP teams to drive ongoing IP improvements. Hybrid work at Wilrijk is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in patent searching and analysis.
• Drafting patent applications.
• Preparing replies to office actions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English; willingness to learn Dutch.
• Motivation to pursue European Patent Attorney qualification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate IP activities across business areas with engineers and inventors.
• Identify patentable innovations and develop robust filing strategies.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications and respond to office actions with IP counsel.
• Collaborate with a worldwide network of IP law firms to optimize the IP position.
• Support product companies in compressor and power techniques with IP policies and trainings.
• Monitor freedom-to-operate and align with other IP teams to drive optimization.
