Tosca, a global leader in reusable packaging solutions, invites you to join its Finance team as a GL Accountant at our European headquarters in Schelle, Belgium.

You will support monthly closings, VAT returns, payroll accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations while collaborating with the Finance Manager and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. A permanent contract and competitive package await the right candidate.

Qualifications

• You have a strong knowledge of accounting and VAT principles.
• Fluent in English; Dutch and French are a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.

To join our Finance team, located at our European headquarters in Schelle (Belgium), we are currently recruiting a motivated GL Accountant!

What you will do

You will act as the right hand of the Finance Manager. The GL Accountant role has a number of responsibilities that include:

• Supporting the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
• Ensuring the accounting entries for the monthly and yearly closing
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Calculating, preparing and submitting VAT & Intrastat returns
• Accounting treatment of the payroll
• Assisting in audits and any ad-hoc projects or business initiatives
• Preparation of transfer pricing (calculation + legal requirements)
• Fixed asset management
• Preparation of statutory accounts
• Preparation of income tax returns
• Take full ownership of smaller foreign entities
• Proactively looking for opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness.

What we are looking for

• You have a Bachelor’s degree Accountancy-Tax or equivalent through experience.
• You have relevant work experience within a similar position. Motivation and ability to learn is more important than years of experience.
• You have a strong knowledge of accounting and VAT principles.
• You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch and French is considered a plus.
• You know how to set priorities and meet work deadlines.
• You have a strong analytical mindset and business acumen.
• You are willing to take on new tasks and can quickly adapt to change.
• You are an excellent communicator with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• You are an enthusiastic team player and will bring a positive attitude to the entire group.
