MPL is seeking a General Manager for Barging Solutions in Antwerp. You will lead the barge team, drive financial performance, and coach the operations staff to deliver efficient, sustainable results. The role blends commercial growth with hands-on operational leadership.

You have a background in maritime transport and inland navigation, with a strong network, and you communicate fluently in Dutch and English, able to coach teams and negotiate with subcontractors to secure profitable outcomes.

Qualifications

Higher education degree and extensive managerial/commercial experience.
Experience in maritime transport and inland navigation with industry network.
Fluent in Dutch and English; additional languages a plus.
Strong people management, customer orientation, and negotiation skills.
Comfort with digital tools and new technologies.

Responsabilités

Oversee financial performance of barge activities and manage budgets.
Coach and develop the operational team and improve efficiency.
Grow the business by strengthening existing client relationships and winning new contracts.
Negotiate prices with subcontractors and drive profitable P&L.
