Job summary

Science at Work in Belgium is seeking a GC/LC specialist for a permanent position near Ghent. You will daily monitor, optimize and validate LC and GC analyses, develop new analytical methods for contaminants, and manage analysis standards.

You will train colleagues in the lab, troubleshoot analytical issues, interpret results, support release of raw materials and finished products, and assist QA & R&D. Fluency in Dutch and English preferred; weekend standby may be needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field.
• Experience with LC/GC techniques and validation guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to train and support colleagues in the lab.
• Affinity with digital systems such as LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Daily follow-up, optimization and validation of LC- and GC-analyses.
• Development and renewal of analytical LC- and GC-methods for contaminants.
• Management and updating of analysis procedures.
• Train and support colleagues in the lab.
• Troubleshoot and resolve analytical issues.
