EDGX, a fast-growing Belgian spacetech company, is seeking an FPGA Engineer to drive FPGA-based digital design for space hardware. You will architect and integrate IP, bridge high-speed interfaces, and process real-time data while ensuring designs are manufacturable, testable, and radiation-hardened for mission environments.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of professional experience in FPGA design and development.
• Knowledge of SystemVerilog and/or VHDL and relevant FPGA tooling (Vivado).
• Knowledge of digital design concepts such as pipelining, timing closure, and verification techniques.
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN, PCIe, Ethernet, SpaceWire).
• Knowledge of hardware testing, validation, debugging, and qualification methodologies.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to work with high focus and precision.
• Autonomous mindset, ownership of work, and clear communication with stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Own the architecture, development, and verification of FPGA-based digital designs, with a focus on high-speed interface conversions and real-time data processing pipelines.
• Design and validate FPGA logic bridging high-speed protocols such as PCIe, SpaceWire, and Ethernet for data transfer between payload instruments and the compute system.
• Prototype, integrate, test, verify, and qualify hardware solutions for reliability and space-environment compliance.
• Apply reliability-driven design practices and verify hardware against radiation and reliability requirements.
• Monitor FPGA chips and architectures, track vendor roadmaps, flight heritage, and radiation performance to inform technology choices.
• Maintain traceable documentation, configuration artefacts, and continuity across projects.
• Collaborate across engineering domains and contribute to improving hardware methodologies and standards.
