The role requires a degree in Fire or Mechanical Engineering, at least 3 years of experience, and proficiency in FDS and PyroSim, with Python coding a plus. Strong communication, teamwork and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: a degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in fire simulation or related area.
• Proficiency in fire simulation software FDS and PyroSim; data analysis tools.
• Pathfinder and IDA proficiency preferred but not essential.
• Python coding experience desirable.
• Certifications in fire safety engineering or risk management advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Analytical and critical thinking with proactive problem-solving.
• Dutch and English language skills required; French advantageous.
• Team player able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilités

• Conduct Fire Simulations: Develop and execute fire simulation models to assess fire behaviour, smoke movement, and heat release rates in various environments.
• Data Analysis: Analyse simulation results to provide insights and recommendations for fire safety strategies and design improvements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety measures into building designs and systems.
• Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations that communicate simulation findings and recommendations to clients and project teams.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all simulations and recommendations comply with local and international fire safety regulations and standards.
• Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest fire safety technologies and methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of simulation techniques.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, present findings, and address any concerns related to fire safety.
