Job summary

UBQ.io is seeking a Finance Developer to build an internal web platform that supports portfolio management for our finance and operations teams. Working at the intersection of finance and technology, you will turn financial data and business requirements into accurate, reliable tools.

You will own features from end to end, from data queries and calculation logic through to the user interface. You will design, implement and test backend and data processes, write SQL against BigQuery, and ensure

Qualifications

• Solid professional experience with Python, including building backend services or data applications.
• Good understanding of financial concepts: P&L, NAV, exposure and cost basis.
• Comfort writing non-trivial SQL, ideally on BigQuery or another cloud warehouse.
• Strong eye for detail and habit of testing and reconciling numbers accurately.
• Clear communication and ability to clarify requirements with finance teams.
• MSc in Finance or progress towards CFA/CAIA (Level I or above).

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain platform features for portfolio management dashboards and data visualisations.
• Translate financial methodologies into backend logic and ensure accurate reconciliation with source systems.
• Write and optimise SQL queries against the cloud data warehouse.
• Ensure platform performance with caching and robust error handling.
• Collaborate with finance and operations stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver improvements.
• Own features end-to-end from data queries to the user interface.
