Job summary

Expert Executive Recruiters (EER Global) is assisting an established international logistics organisation in Belgium to recruit a Finance Manager. You will lead the finance function, report to the local CEO and head a team of eight, delivering commercial insight and robust financial controls.

Responsibilities include IFRS reporting, consolidation, VAT compliance and close collaboration with Head Office and external partners, enabling strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA) preferred.
• 10+ years' experience in financial management with leadership of a finance team.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen to support decision-making.
• Solid understanding of IFRS, financial reporting, and controls.
• Experience with financial consolidation and performance management.
• Knowledge of VAT, tax and statutory requirements.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills; proactive mindset.
• Professional level English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance, audits, internal controls and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee working capital, receivables, payables and credit risk management.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and Head Office on projects.

Job description

We are helping our client, an established international logistics services organisation with over 25 years of experience. The organisation continues to grow its international operations and strengthen its position within the European market.

About the role:

This is a key leadership position with responsibility for the full finance function of a significant entity within the organisation, reporting directly to the local CEO and leading an established team of eight. The Finance Manager will act as a key financial partner to the business, providing commercial insight, supporting decision-making and driving improvements in financial performance, controls and processes. The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function, influence the wider business and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the entity's finance function, providing strong leadership to the Finance team and ensuring effective financial management, controls and continuous improvement.
• Act as a key financial partner to the CEO and senior management, providing analysis, insights and recommendations to support commercial and operational decision-making, and challenging assumptions where appropriate.
• Drive financial performance and cost efficiency, analysing business performance, revenue, costs and operational metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting the business in achieving its objectives.
• Oversee financial reporting and performance management, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to Head Office and providing clear visibility of financial performance.
• Manage the full accounting and finance cycle, including revenue, receivables, payables, cash flow, banking, general ledger, taxation and financial controls.
• Ensure strong financial governance and compliance, including statutory requirements, taxation, audits, internal controls and applicable regulatory obligations.
• Oversee working capital and credit management, ensuring effective management of receivables, payables, cash flow and credit risk.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including operational teams, auditors, banks, suppliers, customers and Head Office, and contribute to relevant business projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent qualification.
• 10+ years of experience in financial management, including leadership of a finance or accounting team.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to analyse performance and support business decision-making.
• Strong understanding of accounting and IFRS principles, financial reporting and controls.
• Experience with financial consolidation and performance management.
• Knowledge of local and cross-border VAT, tax and statutory requirements.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to take initiative, challenge where appropriate and drive continuous improvement.
• Professional level English, both written and verbal.
