Job summary

Walt & Spencer is looking for an experienced Finance Controller to oversee month-end close, reporting, variance analysis, and KPI delivery across the retail entities. You will ensure IFRS compliance and collaborate on lease accounting, intercompany activities, and restructurings.

The role requires strong finance leadership across multiple countries with regional teams. The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in a relevant field, 3–10 years in controlling or audit with IFRS knowledge, and

Qualifications

• Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or related field.
• 3 to 10 years of experience in controlling or audit with strong IFRS knowledge.
• Fluent English plus French or Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the month-end close across the retail entities, with management reporting, variance analysis and KPIs.
• Safeguarding the accuracy and compliance of the financial statements under IFRS and local regulations, with specialist input on lease accounting, intercompany and restructurings.
• Supporting internal and external audits and following up on the actions that strengthen internal controls.
• Contributing to forecasting, budgeting and planning, together with the regional finance teams, the shared service centre and FP&A.
• Assessing business cases and new opportunities, from profitability analysis to turnaround initiatives, with clear recommendations for senior management.
• Coaching the regional finance community and improving processes, systems and data quality across the whole retail network.
