Job summary

TechWolf in Belgium Ghent seeks a Finance Associate to review AI-assisted transaction work, own exceptions, and translate numbers into actionable insight across three entities.

You will execute close processes, fix issues, and help leadership understand the numbers; you’ll work with AI-enabled tools to automate flows and enforce policy as code.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience in finance operations or finance-adjacent analytical role.
• Experience building automated processes that improve efficiency or accuracy.
• Ability to work with AI-enabled tools and translate results into decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the flows that move money from start to finish, automating end-to-end procure-to-pay and improving the close process.
• Build the AI-enabled layer on top of ledgers, CRM and data warehouse, deciding what to automate and what to humanize.
• Set and deploy standard approvals, vendor onboarding, and expense rules across multiple entities.
• Keep financial reporting clean across Belgium, the UK and the US, ensuring consistency with local calendars and auditors.
• Partner with the business to land decisions, presenting plans and the reasoning behind changes.

Finance is TechWolf's data layer. Every deal, hire, and euro flows through our team and becomes the intelligence the company uses to decide. This is why Data and RevOps sit inside Finance. Four people cover the function today: Planning and Forecast, Cost and Controls, RevOps, and Data. You'd be the fifth.

The bet

Finance has been the same job for fifty years. Close the books, run the variance. Chase the receivables, pay the supplier. The tools improved, yet the work did not.

Our finance team runs differently. AI agents take care of routine transaction work, and the team focuses on analysis and decisions. As Finance Associate, you'll review the agents' output, own the exceptions, and help leadership understand what the numbers mean.

You run this month's close and build the workflow for next month. You fix the invoice the agent got wrong, then write the rule so it never happens again. You go from a budget conversation with a VP in the morning to a VAT filing in the afternoon. You do the work and build the system that replaces it.

The agents, the automation, the policies written as code: it's all a means to an end. Real success is a department head making up their mind because of what you brought, and nobody arguing about whether the number is right.

What you'll do

• Own the flows that move our money from start to finish. Right now, that means automating purchase-to-pay end to end, improving our close process, and building procurement from the ground up. As we grow, your role will evolve with us.




• Accelerate with AI: Our ledgers, CRM, and data warehouse are all connected to Claude, and you’ll work in it daily. Your job is to build the layer on top: decide which parts to automate, where to keep a human, and write the policies the agents run on. The system you build in your first 6 months will last years.




• Set the standard the whole company runs on: Approval thresholds, vendor onboarding, expense rules, what needs a second set of eyes. These are how 140 wolves across Ghent, London, New York and San Francisco commit money every day. You design and deploy the gold standard for how.




• Keep us clean across three entities: Belgium, the UK, and the US, each with its own ledger, auditor, and filing calendar. You ensure our reports match reality. You care that it is right.




• Land the recommendation: You partner with the business on decisions and trade-offs, show up with a plan and the reasoning behind it, and stick with it until the change is made.

Who you are:

• You have 2 to 5 years of experience in finance operations or a finance‑adjacent analytical seat, ideally in a company that has scaled fast.




• You have built something you're proud of. A process that took a week and now takes an hour. An automation people still use after you left. A model that became how a team plans.




• You can sit with a department head who disagrees with your numbers, hold your position, and keep the relationship intact.




• You are precise where it counts. Three entities, three currencies, two accounting systems and one reporting system. You know which discrepancies matter and which ones don't.




• You work AI‑first. You'll use agentic tools daily here, and we expect you to raise the bar on how the finance team uses them.




• You thrive amid ambiguity and fast‑changing environments.




• You're based in Belgium and willing to work from our Ghent office at least three days a week.

This is the bet. Finance as a system, owned end‑to‑end, in service of the decision. We are looking for someone who wants to help us build it.
