Imec Leuven, Belgium, seeks a Finance AI Analyst to explore AI capabilities in Finance and collaborate with IT, Data & AI teams to implement secure, scalable solutions.

You will bring hands-on AI knowledge and an interest in business processes, working with Finance process experts and IT to deliver prototypes and scalable deployments.

The role offers chances to shape responsible AI adoption and contribute to digital transformation within a premier nanotechnology research center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Engineering, Business, Economics, or a similar field.
• Experience with artificial intelligence, generative AI, data/AI solutions or digital transformation.
• Strong practical understanding of modern AI technologies, including LLMs, generative AI and AI agents.
• Hands-on experience with AI models and tooling and comfortable experimenting with AI APIs, platforms and development tools.
• Fluent in English; Dutch knowledge is a plus.

Finance AI Analyst

What you will do

The Finance AI Analyst is responsible for exploringand bringing new AI capabilities into the Finance organization. You identifyopportunities where AI can improve finance processes, evaluate relevant AImodels and tooling and turn promising ideas into practical solutions.

To do so, you work closely with Finance colleagues tounderstand business needs and opportunities, while collaborating with IT, Data& AI and other technology experts to ensure solutions are secure, scalableand aligned with imec's technology landscape.

The ideal job candidate combines strong hands-onknowledge of AI and emerging AI technologies with a strong interest in businessprocesses, digital transformation and continuous improvement. You do not needto be a Finance expert: you will work together with Finance process experts andIT specialists to bring your AI expertise into the organization.

Identify andprioritize opportunities where AI can create value within Finance, togetherwith Finance stakeholders and process owners.

• Explore how AI can enhance existing Finance tools and ways of working, including Excel-based analysis, reporting and data modelling, as well as contract analysis, data quality analysis and compliance checks.
• Explore and evaluate emerging AI technologies, models and tooling, including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), AI agents and AI-enabled automation.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate the potential of AI for Finance and validate ideas with users.
• Translate business challenges and process opportunities into practical AI solutions, determining when to use AI, traditional automation, analytics or a combination of technologies.
• Work with Finance colleagues to experiment with AI and identify opportunities to improve productivity, process quality, reporting, analysis and decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with IT, Data & AI and Enterprise Architecture to assess technical feasibility and ensure alignment with imec's architecture, security, data and AI governance standards.
• Act as the bridge between Finance and IT for AI-related initiatives, translating Finance needs into AI concepts and technical requirements.
• Support the transition of successful AI prototypes into scalable solutions, with IT taking ownership of enterprise technology, integration, security and operations where appropriate.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in AI models, platforms and tooling and assess their relevance for Finance.
• Contribute to responsible and effective adoption of AI within Finance by sharing knowledge, developing guidelines and supporting users in understanding both the possibilities and limitations of AI.
• Measure the impact and adoption of AI solutions and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.

Who you are

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Engineering, Business, Economics, or a similar field.
• You have relevant professional experience with artificial intelligence, generative AI, data/AI solutions, digital transformation or a similar domain.
• You have a strong practical understanding of modern AI technologies, including LLMs, generative AI and AI agents.
• You have hands‑on experience with AI models and tooling and are comfortable experimenting with AI APIs, platforms and development tools.
• You understand the strengths and limitations of AI and can distinguish when AI is appropriate from when traditional automation, analytics or business rules are a better solution.
• Experience with business process analysis, automation or digital transformation is a plus.
• Experience in Finance, financial systems or ERP/SAP is considered a plus but is not required.
• You are curious, hands‑on and proactive, with a strong interest in emerging AI technologies and their practical application.
• You are a convincing communicator and have good listening and stakeholder management skills.
• You are comfortable working across Finance and IT and collaborating with both business and technical experts.
• You have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• You are fluent in English; good knowledge of Dutch is considered as a plus.
