Octave, a Belgian cleantech scale-up, is seeking a Field Applications Engineer for BESS to join our engineering and sales ecosystem in Belgium. You will support installation, commissioning, and problem-solving across battery energy storage projects, interfacing with Sales, Purchasing, and customers.

The role combines hands-on field work with remote support and documentation to ensure reliable operation. Fluent English and Dutch or French are required; BA5 certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, norms and regulations.
• Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with ownership.
• Battery energy storage systems (BESS) knowledge (batteries, inverters, EMS).
• Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, or field support of LV up to 1000VAC and 1500VDC.

Responsabilités

• Support installation, commissioning, and problem-solving of BESS at customer sites.
• Provide technical support to Sales: validate use cases and requirements.
• Support Purchasing/supplier selection and technical evaluations.
• Perform electrical and system integration engineering for BESS projects.
• Deliver remote support with occasional on-site visits; document issues and best practices.
