Job summary

Dekimo Experts is seeking an engineer to be the technical lead and main point of contact for the feeder link of our telecom satellite payload. The role is based at client sites in Belgium and involves coordinating internal teams and external suppliers, owning the requirements and interfaces, and following the chain through integration and test.

You will apply skills in digital communications, link budgets and RF chains, write and flow down requirements, and manage ICDs.

Qualifications

• Writ e and flow down requirements for satellite payload interfaces (ICDs).
• Coordinate with multiple teams and external suppliers.
• Understand digital comms concepts, modulation, spectral efficiency, and DVB-S2/S2X exposure is a plus.
• Experience with link budgets (G/T, EIRP, C/N) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead and main point of contact for the feeder link of the satellite payload.
• Coordinate internal teams and suppliers through integration and test.
• Own requirements and interfaces and ensure proper flow-down into design and verification.

We’re looking for an engineer to be the technical lead and main point of contact for the feeder link of our telecommunication satellite payload.

The person coordinates internal teams and suppliers, owns the requirements and interfaces, and follows the chain through integration and test.

Skills & knowledge

• Digital communications: modulation, coding, spectral efficiency, ideally some exposure to DVB-S2/S2X
• Understanding of link budgets (G/T, EIRP, C/N, rain fade)
• Working knowledge of an RF chain: up/down conversion, LO and phase noise
• Ability to write and flow down requirements, and to manage interfaces (ICDs)
• Comfortable coordinating with several teams and external suppliers, with a pragmatic, hands-on attitude

Nice to have

• Space or satellite payload experience
• Familiarity with high-speed data converters and/or FPGA-based digital architectures
• Exposure to ground segment and gateways or ACM operation
• Lab experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, etc)
• Python or MATLAB for analysis

As part of this opportunity, you will work as a Dekimo consultant at one of our clients’ sites, while receiving support and guidance from our teams.
