Elia Group, a key Belgian energy player, seeks an External Relations Advisor to shape external communications and strengthen the organization’s visibility. You translate complex grid developments into accessible messages for diverse audiences and partner with internal experts and external partners.

You will grow into a strategic sparring partner for spokespeople, coordinating topics with project teams and managing multiple communication formats in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in communication, journalism, political or social sciences, economics, law, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of external communication experience.
• Strong writing skills and ability to simplify complex topics.
• Excellent command of Dutch and French; good English.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to connect experts and communication needs.

Function

As an External Communication Advisor, you will join a dynamic team working on the visibility and reputation of an organization that plays a key role in the energy sector. You will operate in an environment where societal relevance, technical complexity, and strategic communication intersect.

In this role, you actively contribute to the development and implementation of the external communication strategy. You translate complex topics — such as developments in the electricity grid — into clear and accessible messages for diverse audiences. You combine strong content expertise with a results‑oriented mindset.

You work closely with internal experts, project teams, and external partners. You support and advise spokespersons and management by preparing them with key messages and relevant content. Over time, you grow into a strong strategic sparring partner for spokespersons.

This is a versatile role in which you switch quickly between topics, stakeholders, and communication formats, with a direct impact on the organization’s external positioning.

Your Profile
