Virya Energy in Belgium is seeking a Freelance Project & Operations Manager to scale a start-up in the heavy-duty charging sector and establish essential processes.

You will identify charging opportunities, define technical concepts, lead development from feasibility to FID, and coordinate partners, permitting, and milestones. Fluency in Dutch and English is required; Belgian residence with valid work permit is mandatory. Hybrid working model offered.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in project development and project management, familiar with permitting, engineering coordination, and operational asset management.
• Established network within e-mobility, EPC contractors, logistics, real estate development, or public authorities.
• Understanding asset development projects: financial viability, market relevance, technical design, regulatory requirements, and timelines.
• Good technical understanding of charging systems, energy infrastructure and software platforms.
• Proven track record developing/leading operations in fast-paced start-up environments.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to build relationships and communicate across all levels.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Residency in Belgium with valid work permit.

Responsabilités

• Identify and evaluate new charging infrastructure opportunities through technical and commercial site assessments.
• Develop and define technical concepts and translate requirements into robust business cases.
• Lead and drive development projects from feasibility analysis through final investment decision (FID), coordinating engineering partners, permitting activities, and milestones.
• Ensure optimal performance of charging infrastructure assets and software platforms, manage SLAs, resolve incidents, and coordinate technical interventions with service providers.
• Act as the primary contact for internal/external stakeholders and shareholders, coordinating communication and project alignment.
• Possess solid experience in project development and management, with familiarity of permitting processes and asset management, leveraging a network in e-mobility.
