Job summary

Milltown Partners LLP in Brussels is seeking a Consultant with at least three years of EU policy advisory experience and a passion for tech policy. You will drive EU public affairs strategies for high-profile clients, working with client teams to set priorities and deliver integrated plans.

You will advise a range of tech clients, read diverse policy materials, and support junior colleagues while deputising for directors.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of written and verbal English language.
• At least 3 years of advisory experience with a focus on EU public affairs - ideally in consultancy, or in-house.
• Experience in relevant fields including technology, think tanks and politics.
• Experience advising technology companies, or creating the rules that affect them.
• Desirable experience in EU institutions.
• Demonstrable ability to take a strategic approach to assessing public affairs and understand EU policies affecting tech-enabled businesses.
• Experience developing public affairs strategies and interacting with EU officials and private stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• EU Public affairs strategy: identifying how best to position clients with EU policymakers.
• Set strategy and priorities with client teams.
• Create integrated EU public affairs plans to guide execution.
• Deliver client objectives using strategies to reach policymakers.
• Design and interrogate client asks and policy briefs based on insights.
• Tailor advice to reflect policy impact on client business models.
• Provide high-quality recommendations and go beyond the brief.
• Advising: earning trust of clients and giving clear recommendations.
• Produce compelling written content and drive execution of EU public affairs moments.
• Read broad policy materials to inform advice.
• Contribute to development of advocacy strategies and sector-specific guidance.
• People Management: coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Contribute to business through understanding revenue generation and internal projects.
• Foster collaborative and inclusive culture.
