Job summary

The Guild in Brussels is seeking a Policy Officer to develop networks with EU institutions and advocate research and higher education policies. With 1-3 years of relevant experience, you will engage with policy developments and coordinate working groups, liaising with the Head of R&I Policy and the Head of Higher Education Policy.

Open-ended contract with two days of teleworking per week, based in Brussels.

Qualifications

• University degree, normally at Master’s level or higher.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English; knowledge of another European language is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of policies in research and higher education.
• Coordinating the activities of relevant working groups and formulating network policy positions.
• Supporting governance meetings (General Assembly, Vice-Presidents' meetings) and writing conclusions.
• Organising events with experts from member universities and policy-makers.
• Collaborating with team members and feeding into their work.
• Creating strong relations with European Institutions (EC, EP, Council) and other networks in Brussels.
• Engaging with the Guild’s communications activities.
