Engineering Manager, AI-Driven Sleep Tech

Job summary

Sunrise is building the future of sleep health with at-home diagnostics and telehealth. We seek an Engineering Manager to lead 6–10 engineers across 2–3 squads, reporting to the CTO, owning people, staffing, and delivery.

You will partner with Product and Design, drive technical excellence, and champion AI-augmented engineering practices while maintaining close ties to code and product outcomes. Fluency in English required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing software engineers in a dedicated management role.
• 5+ years as a software engineer before moving into management, including ownership of production systems.
• Track record of shipping and operating production web products with React, Django and GCP.
• Experience partnering closely with Product and Design in an empowered-squad model.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 6 to 10 engineers across 2 to 3 product squads.
• Own delivery for your squads: commitments, scope, and dates; refuse unsustainable plans.
• Protect long-term velocity by managing tech health and platform quality.
• Hire: partner with Talent Acquisition; run technical interviews and set hiring bar.
• Raise the technical bar by staying close to code and designs and using AI tooling.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads and Principal Engineer to challenge ambition and approach.
• Champion modern, AI-augmented engineering practices and continuous improvement.
• Maintain strong product and business context with direct stakeholder relationships.
