Shape the future of the employee experience at ING

At ING, we believe that great employee experiences create better outcomes for people, teams and customers. As an Employee Journey Expert, you will play a key role in designing and continuously improving one of the most important moments in the employee lifecycle: recruitment.

This is not a recruiter role.

Instead, you will look at the journey end-to-end, identifying opportunities to make it simpler, more digital, more efficient and more human. You will bring together data, technology, stakeholder insights and employee feedback to improve how people experience joining ING while ensuring processes remain compliant and future-ready.

You will be part of a team of Employee Journey Experts who improve employee journeys across the entire employee lifecycle within an international context. Together, you will help shape the future of HR at ING through innovation, operational excellence and a relentless focus on employee experience.

About the role

As Employee Journey Expert, you are the end-to-end process owner for the recruitment employee journey from an employee experience perspective.

You combine an HR mindset with strong technology, data and change capabilities. You analyse processes, identify pain points, build improvement roadmaps and drive the implementation of new solutions together with local and global stakeholders.

You will operate in a complex environment where global HR platforms and standards need to meet local business, legal and employee requirements. You will work closely with internal and external partners to create a recruitment journey that is both compliant and effortless for employees, candidates and managers.

Success in this role comes from your ability to connect people, data, technology and business needs into practical improvements that create measurable impact.

Key responsibilities
Improve the employee experience
  • Continuously evaluate the recruitment journey through employee feedback, operational insights and market trends.
  • Identify moments that matter and design improvements that make the journey more personal, simple, effective and frictionless
  • Drive change initiatives that improve both employee and manager experience.
Drive operational excellence and digital transformation
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and digitise processes.
  • Help shape the future of HR technology by partnering with global product owners.
  • Use data and insights to identify improvement opportunities and support decision-making.
Lead change and deliver improvements
  • Build and maintain a clear roadmap of local and global initiatives impacting the recruitment journey.
  • Manage projects from idea to implementation and coordinate initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Support the adoption of new processes, tools and ways of working.
  • Ensure improvements deliver measurable value and sustainable outcomes.
Ensure compliance and process integrity
  • Maintain strong governance across the recruitment journey.
  • Ensure compliance with risk, legal and regulatory requirements, including employment screening processes and data protection obligations.
  • Partner with business control and risk experts to proactively identify and manage risks.
Build strong partnerships
  • Collaborate with local HR Business Partners, global HR teams, product owners and external service providers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on employee experience and process improvement opportunities.

  • A structured approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and how they can improve employee experiences.

At ING, you will find a role with impact, autonomy and room to grow.

You will join a team that covers the full employee lifecycle and works on some of the most important people journeys in the organisation, going from recruitment to offboarding and all career journeys in between (onboarding, internal mobility, international mobility, learning).

We offer:
