Batia Mosa in Belgium seeks a Hands-on Battery & Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical and electromechanical aspects of naval battery systems. You will split time between CAD design and workshop work, ensuring robust enclosures, cooling, and safe integration on vessels.
You will collaborate with software/BMS engineers, test prototypes, and support certification with maritime criteria. Fluency in French and English is expected for collaboration and documentation.
Battery & Mechanical Engineer - Maritime Energy Transition
Batia Mosa is an established Belgian shipyard located in Andenne, specializing in the construction, conversion, and repair of inland waterway and service vessels. To shape the future of sustainable maritime transport, Batia Mosa has created an internal clean-tech venture dedicated to developing and integrating modular, high-performance battery systems.
With two major multi-year innovation programs already secured (funded by regional and European initiatives for zero-emission shipping), funding and manufacturing infrastructure are fully in place. The theoretical R&D phase on paper is complete: we are moving directly to physical assembly, testing, certification, and hands-on installation of our battery packs on the shipyard floor. To strengthen our engineering team on-site at Batia Mosa, we are looking for a Hands-on Battery & Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a practical, workshop-based environment.
Working in close collaboration with your engineering peer (who leads the software, simulation, and BMS side), you will form the technical core of our internal venture. You will take full ownership of the mechanical and electromechanical aspects of our battery systems, splitting your time between CAD design and the workshop floor.
