Director of Cluster Operations - France, Belgium & Netherlands

Our partner is a European cold storage operator providing temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics services for the food industry.

Key Responsibilities & Scope :

• Oversee operations across 3 country clusters: France, Belgium, Netherlands (5 full automated logistics warehouses across 3 countries)
• Directly manage 5 site managers; indirectly manage 300 employees
• Lead development and execution of regional operational strategies aligned with company goals
• Drive operational excellence, consistency, and cross-border alignment
• Monitor KPIs, analyze performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Optimize resource utilization, cost efficiency, and service quality across 5 automated warehouses
• Support integration of new volumes and space planning
• Ensure compliance with HSE, legal, and quality standards (BRC/HACCP)
• Manage supplier relationships and financial accuracy (invoicing, budgeting)
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments (Supply Chain, HR, Finance, Quality)
• Represent operations in client meetings and strengthen customer relations
• Lead regional transformation, digitalization, and change management projects

Profiel

• Experience : 10+ proven years of experience in operations management or similar leadership role
• Languages skills : Fluent in English and Dutch (mandatory), French is an asset
• Experience in logistics environments, specifically in warehousing operations (excluding production and industrial sectors). Knowledge of the agri-food sector is considered an asset
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication abilities
• Proficiency in relevant software and Microsoft Office
• Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement
