Ariad in Belgium is seeking a Senior UI/Design System Designer to join the design team within one of BE's leading digital ecosystems. You will own the design system as a strategic asset shaping web and mobile experiences with expert collaboration from designers and developers.

You'll drive accessibility, documentation, and guidelines, ensuring consistency across products while enabling rapid iteration and scalable design processes. Fluency in Dutch or French and strong English are expected.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of UI design experience.
• 2+ years creating and maintaining a design system.
• Proven experience collaborating with developers and product teams.
• Experience with complex, large-scale digital products.
• Fluent in Dutch or French with good English.

About the Role

As a UI - Design System Designer, you will join the design team within one of BE leading digital ecosystems, working closely with fellow designers and a team of developers.

This is a senior expert position, not a people management role. You'll take ownership of the design system as a strategic asset shaping how design is built, shared and scaled across web and mobile driving consistency and quality through expertise, not formal hierarchy.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and manage components that form the backbone of the design system
• Align the design system with the broader branding guidelines
• Support fellow designers in adopting and applying the system day-to-day
• Monitor accessibility and carry out evaluations in line with applicable standards
• Write clear documentation and guidelines for designers and developers
• Coordinate closely with front-end developers across mobile and web
• Safeguard consistency, quality and scalability across all components
• Launch new ideas and improve processes that increase the system's impact
• Explore how AI can strengthen design processes and efficiency

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a UI designer
• 2+ years of experience creating and maintaining a design system
• Proven experience working closely with developers and product teams
• Strong track record on complex, large-scale digital products
• Fluent in Dutch or French, with good knowledge of English
